The layering rule
Three thin layers beat one thick one. They trap warmth and let you adjust as you heat up on the magic carpet.
- Base layer: thermal top and bottoms — wool or synthetic, never cotton.
- Mid layer: a fleece or light sweater for warmth.
- Outer layer: a waterproof, windproof jacket and snow pants.
Don’t forget
- Warm, waterproof gloves or mittens (not knit gloves).
- Wool or synthetic socks — one pair, not two.
- A toque or helmet liner, and a neck gaiter for cold days.
- Goggles or sunglasses — snow is bright, even at night under the lights.
- Sunscreen for sunny days.
Helmets & gear
Helmets are strongly recommended for everyone and included with rental packages. Skis, board and boots are all available from the rental shop — you only need clothing.
